Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
the role involves going onto site and following on an engineer to learn what is done around the site and give us the experience we will need to do it ourselves, the first year is entirely college based and then for the next years we will be doing day release.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
i am so far enjoying the programme very much and am learning a lot of knew skills that i didn't have before, in my apprenticeship year there is a group of 4 of us who all get along very well which makes the programme a lot more enjoyable as well.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
i have learnt a lot of knew skills so far even though i have only been here a year, for example i have learn a lot of knew skills such as soldering as well as all of the skills that are needed in order to carry out bench fitting in a safe way.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
on Britvic's side the programme is structured very well and it is clear what we are due to be doing for example the time that we have spent on site it has been very easy to work as its been clearly shown what is happening when we are there, the college however has been a struggle due to the covid situation which meant we were not allowed to be in the college for a large period of time.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
our employer supports us a lot when we are in college for example if anything is happening that we need to know about we are always informed via email which is helpful. they are also helpful if we have any problems ourselves that they can help with they are always happy to help if they can.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
the training provider is very helpful with the work that we carry out and they are very helpful if there is something that we are struggling with for example if there was a task that we didn't understand they will happily go over it with us so that we can get a better understanding.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
there are certain units within the current qualification that i am doing that will not help me at work for example units such as comms and business improvements however there are also units which are very helpful for example electrical installation where we was taught a lot of electrical information and bench fitting where we are taught a lot of helpful work techniques.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
unfortunately there are no extra curricular activities that take place at my work however as an apprentice there is a week long activity that they do where we go up to the lake district to meet all the apprentices from other sites and carry out some activities to help everyone know each other better.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Britvic to a friend?
Yes
Why?
the reason that i would recommend Britvic to a friend is that i feel it is a good company to work for that comes with a lot of benefits for example good money as well as a good pension plan which will help in the future. it is also a company that will likely be around for a long time which means they would never be short of work.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Britvic?
when applying you should make sure to be confident and sell yourself to the company so that they can see that you are interested and want to be there, its also important to show that you know about the company for example the history of it and some of the brands we work with.
