Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My Role involves daily running of the home, Managing staff, Daily communications, medications. running of the home in the managers absence, Ensuring all residents are kept in a safe environment. dealing with lots of other professional such as district nursing team, GP, SALT, Rapid Access, Hospital, and others. im responsible for updating care plans and ensuring they are relevant and up to date.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

i have now completed my level 5, the company paragon was very supportive as i was let down by my past provider, my tutor was very helpful and helped me along the way with all of my level 5, she was always willing to help me no matter what.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt lots of new skills, I can do daily audits, accounts, ive been on lots of different courses, such as, Medication advanced, Health and safety, Paragon have helped me complete my level 5, this included lots of in depth units such as safeguarding adults, health and safety and lots of other units, all relevant to my current job role

How well organised/structured is your programme?

i found the online bud system very good, and east to navigate and my tutor could see what i was submitting and we could see each others messages, the induction was very good, support was excellent, we had regular meetings and support whenever i needed it. the studying was easier with all the work in one place.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My manager was very supportive with me throughout, if i needed to do any work in work time this was no problem and was facilitated, any problems with anything they were always helpful and on hand to help. my manager has always supported me to further my career and gain more experience.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

my tutor was very helpful and helped me with all aspect of my level 5 she coached and supported me when needed. she was very approachable and supportive and made it more enjoyable, she explained the units to me in an easier way to understand this helped me a lot. i couldn't thank her enough.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

all the units i completed where things that i was doing on a daily basis the level 5 helped me understand things in a more detailed professional way. i use lots of the things that i have learnt in my job daily, i feel i have a lot more understanding.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

due to the the pandemic this has not really been possible, in normal circumstances the home holds, opening days and has regular funfilled days and singers activities. we did used to have volunteers in the home but due to the situation this has not been possible over the last year.

very good service, and very good support from all that i have dealt with at paragon, Wendy was a very very good tutor and gave me lots of support and coaching. i would recommend to a friend as i found the bud system really easy to use and better than the old fashioned paper method
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Care UK Limited?
very good service, Tutors very friendly and supportive. very informative, the course was very challenging but with the right support i managed to get this all completed and passed, it has been worth all the effort. i would highly recommend anyone thinking of further education to use paragon as they give a really good service.
