Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Looking after the children, working with the eyfs and observing children, doing trackers, speaking to parents and professionals if needed to. On a rota so one week carpet time, one week snack and one week welcome the parents in I also help to set up the rooms in the mornings.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy the programme, im constantly learning through looking up things on the Internet that I would not normally look into unless it was needed, speaking to staff who have done the course before and finding different information in the setting. Expanding on my knowledge of what I already know.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
The course has taught me lots of things some I wasn't quite clued up on so it's been nice to have a better insight of certain things and been nice to get my head round certain things in the workplace as only started job in October last year.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
[This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] is brilliant, everything fell into place so quickly once applied for the course. she is always on hand to explain questions that I'm not quite sure on and gives me good feedback on my work and expenses how and why if I need to put extra work in a question.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Lots and from the staff.
If I'm ever stuck they will sit and have a read of the question or answer that I have written down and try and help me in a way of not telling me the answer as such but what would you do.in this instance
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
The support is great I recieve through emails. I'm aware that [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] is on the end of the phone but I've not yet had the need to ring her. When I've not quite understood a question I have emailed her and has put it onto simple language I understand.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I feel more confident in my job role whilst doing the course as I feel it is opening my eyes to a wider view of the setting, children, parents professionals etc. Im also learning whilst I'm working and finding things out and trying new things out in the room that I'm learning.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
At the minute with covid it's a bit hard, but if courses need to be done we will do them through zoom meetings or a learning site that we will log into. I am doing my first aid training in a few weeks. The team have also been out on team building days out.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Paragon Skills to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Helpful that I can do the course whilst still working full time and there's no college to attend and it's all done on line. My assessor can watch me through zoom or come in and observe me in a activity in my work place. I can then do my work at home.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Paragon Skills?
Be prepared to work as not easy and alot of researching involved but pays off and gives you a better knowledge of things. Lots of support from assessor and staff. I'm glad I enrolled as I did my level 3 in 2004. There's no college to go to either.
