Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role includes administration of medications, liaising with external agencies such as gp’s and district nurses, overseeing the general welfare of my clients and supporting team members with their daily duties and responsibilities. It is also my role to order medication and make sure that the residents needs are being met.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I thoroughly enjoyed my programme as I was able to learn new skills and information and use these within my own practice. My trainer was extremely knowledgable and supported me to the best of her ability through both my course and my end point assessment which relieved any anxieties I had.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I learnt new skills surrounding communication, pressure care, dementia and health condition awareness as well as safeguarding, confidentiality and team working. I developed existing skills through all of these and was supported with my own learning development by being encouraged to ask questions and do my own research to support my learning.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The program is very structured and organised and I was able to take it at my own pace whilst also pushing myself and my boundaries. I was given time frames to do certain modules that was discussed and I felt comfortable with and could do more or less in that time frame if I wished to.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I received and receive a lot of support from my employer both through general work and through my programme. They gave me time to study and to reflect on the modules that I had learnt whilst supporting me to inform other colleagues of key information points that I was given.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I received a lot of support in my training provider when working towards my qualification. I was given time to develop my skills and was able to get extra information when needed or things explained in a different way if I was struggling to understand either the question or the information
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I feel that due to my qualification I’m able to perform better in my role as I have a much wider range of knowledge and understanding into different topics. I am able to support my team better both with skills in team work and knowledge about residents care too.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are no specific extra-curricular activities to get involved with within my work however colleagues work together well and we regularly get together during work to discuss our worries or our achievements and have treats such as pizza to share with each other in order to keep the morale high.
