Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Software Engineer roles ranged from the full development process. From planning, implementation / development, testing and certification. This changed depending on the progress of the project you are assigned to.
My placement consisted mostly of unit development and testing / certification

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes. By nature of Aviation development, Engineers must take ownership of their software and documents.
