Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role as a designer entails using Computer Aided Design to produce models and also to produce drawings.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my programme a lot as I get to learn new things and also meet new people.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Since starting my apprenticeship I have learned how to properly use CAD and also the different aspects of the product that I produce.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is very well organised as I have a fixed college day during the week and attend my work place for all other days Monday to Friday. I get training before I move onto any new team to ensure I can carry out new work.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer funds my HNC and all aspects of my apprenticeship. My skills coaches regularly check up on people and there is always a line of contact.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Due to COVID we have been unable to attend college in person and have to do online lessons which is harder so naturally there is less support however the college are making their best efforts to help us pass.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Some of the lessons can be attributed to the behaviours in work such as working in a team which is covered in Business aspects of industrial management.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There is the option to carry out STEM activities which can help you to further yourself within the business by representing it externally. however due to COVID these activities are currently on hold.
