Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Work with a small automation team within a much larger group of engineers from all different specialist like mechanical and electrical.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
It depends of where you are based in the UK, overall its enjoyible and you do learn from all fields and work with great people that make your day to day quite varied on all forms of skills.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
You do Level 4 HNC at the first year at Tameside college. Then progress to Level 5 at the Second year. There you learn from pneumatics, maths, project manegement, electrical principals, ect. Very academic based.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
In terms of the structure, they dont explain to you how the years are planned or what units you will need to do, you have ask around a lot how does the learning from college applies for university
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
When at the job its an amazing plaze to work at as I have a trusting manger that has supported me and Im integrated well at the team. This is site dependent how your organisation is structured.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
There isnt much information about this, you will find out as you go along. Teahcers and tutors are sometimes not very helpfull, so you have to be very independent. There is abrig group so sometimes reaching out to the advisor is not helpfull.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Unfortunately it doesnt meet the standard you are meant to know for work. Because you are in college for 1 year and then you do blocks for the rest of the three years. Which means that you are spected to have knowledge from that one year and apply it.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are some if you will like, but with covid most of these have been cut of at work.
