Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
As a front of house team member I have a range of responsibilities, for example; health and safety checks, standard checks around the pub, bar and waiting duties etc. On the written side of my apprenticeship I have full support from my trainer who goes through my written work on video chats and offers thorough explanations on things I don't initially understand, this helps me further my understanding of different sectors and styles within the hospitality industry.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I thoroughly enjoy my day to day work, the atmosphere of the pub is something to look forward to every day. The team works great together to ensure not only the external customers are happy but also internal customers, keeping a positive attitude throughout the team makes each day educational and enjoyable.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt and developed many skills since beginning my apprenticeship for example; furthering my knowledge on legislative requirements and ensuring i am adhering to company and legal requirements, understanding different service styles and introducing them to my work day and learning how to actively listen to my customers and adapt my service style to exceed customer expectations.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My apprenticeship is very well structured, from my regularly scheduled meetings with my lifetime coach or day to day work, it is of the utmost importance to me to have a structured and organized working life. Organization leaves little to room for misunderstandings this means I know exactly what work to complete and when it needs to be completed for.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive great support from my manager, assistant manager and supervisor, if there is anything i need assistance with or support on they are always there to help. My manager regularly checks in on my apprenticeship is very supportive and offers praise, this is beneficial as it helps me feel confident within my workplace and written learning.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive a great amount of support from my training provider, as I previously mentioned he is always there to help, even before our meetings I always feel welcome to send him any questions regarding my apprenticeship via email. He is extremely organized and always leaves time for me to ask any questions in our meetings. Most recently he has assisted my further learning in math's by signing me up to online classes.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
So far I have learnt some great new skills for example; furthering knowledge I already have, learning new things such as service styles which will help me in different FOH roles and establishments. It is also a fantastic stepping stone to move onto management and is laying the foundation of information i will need to know to progress in my career.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
At the moment due to COVID-19 we are not as able to have extra curricular events, however in the future i assume we will have things such as staff parties and other social event to bring the team closer together. When i am not working i enjoy furthering my knowledge on the industry.
