Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
currently undertaking a degree at Nottingham trent.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
its a challenging course due to working at the same time. i have enjoyed the course but i feel could be split into 4 years rather than 5.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
developed a number of new skills from measurement, construction technology and construction law

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
the structure of the programme can be volatile but this is partly down to the current lock down situation. overall the structure works the 1st year there were too many subjects and was unrealistic to complete. but after the 3rd year it seem to become more manageable.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
not really any. im fortunate that my councillor is in my organisation. but support wise i don't have any it is just expected to get on with the day job and not to expect any help.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
if talking about university training providers some. i think they could do more by providing training packs which would be useful . so you can review in your own time.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
it has certainly helped me with my understanding in the role. and i have been able to use some of the skills in my day job.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5
at the unitivveristy there is but it doesn't really apply to people working its more for full time students. would be interested if there were sports open to part timers.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Nottingham Trent University to a friend?
Yes
Why?
overall the teaching is good, there is support from some tutors more so than others, and nottingham trent has a good name in the industry.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Nottingham Trent University?
need to be well organised as the degree will take up a lot of your personal time. so you need to be disciplined. need to speak to work about creating allowances for you as you will struggle if you don't have support.
