Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role as a Care Assistant includes care of the physical and mental health of the residents, their safety and well- being. I help the residents with their daily activities, toileting needs, hygiene and their entertaining activities. I do assist with the feeding of those who can't perform this action on their own. And make sure their special diet needs are met .
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy my program because I can learn so much more about my job and progress in my development. I enjoy the online training as it is less time taking and easy to do.
So overall the extent I do enjoy my training is taking a big scale of enjoyment.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I did have learnt a lot more during my apprenticeship, towards the mental aspects of residents and all of the information gathered together made me see deeper into my actions and how to act to help the residents better. I learnt more details about the person - centered approach, safeguarding and preserving their dignity, giving them respect in an optimum way and I can say I do understand the residents more , so as my job responsabilities.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
It is very well organised. We plan what do I do till the next zoom meeting and I have time to prepare, if something happens or we have other assessments to do , I am given time to finish. But so far it is going in time and by plan. So this is why I think it is well organised.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I am very thankful to my employer giving the opportunity to do my training and I am very happy with them all the way along. They support me through everything I have been and I know if I need extra help with my training , they will be there to help.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I do receive a lot of support from my training provider as well as from my employer. Indeed so much more, cause we are in closer and more often contact regarding my study. I know she can always help me if I have a question or if I need extra materials to read.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
As I wrote earlier in another review, I do feel more understanding of both sides-mine and the residents' . I also feel more confident about my job and the decisions I have to take. Knowledge really gives you the power to perform better at the workplace, it is beneficial not only to you, but mostly for the vulnerable people you take care of.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
The extra - curricular activities at my work place are more likely fun activities, because the mobility of most of the residents is very impaired. So they are social, fun activities like coloring, we play bingo as well, we do quiz days, we have some music like a party social day. Talking with them, dancing and enjoying non- alcoholic drinks.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Harbour Healthcare to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Because I really enjoy my training, and my work . I find enormous support and help and rarely meet problems from any side. I know I will be answered and I know I will be heard if I decide to talk, ask questions or raise attention about anything that is bothering me.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Harbour Healthcare?
The only advice I can give is that you have to be ready to learn, to develop, you have to have compassion and care in your heart and be patient. You have to be hardworking. And as long as you're all of this and you play fair, the company will have your back.
