Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Every day was structured including a mixture of theoretical and practical sessions with a strong concern to include Q&A sessions to make sure every information is clear. On the end of Day 1 a project gets assigned in teams of 5 that will be presented on the final day in front of a panel. Sufficient time during the week is allocated to do the project successfully. The access to the Terminal is very insightful!
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
Considering Bloomberg's unique flat structure and peculiar inter-link of departments the main take-away is how the company operates. This is extremely helpful in locating the best suited department for yourself and be aware of how you can switch to other departments and slightly change your career path if you so choose. This is particularly appealing and reassuring to recent graduates who might want to stay in the same company but re-adjust career paths.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The culture was as advertised and proved to be accepting and inclusive with TL leading by example. The atmosphere online was still warm and personally with my team we developed a very good connection during the week. From what was visible in the zoom calls the office is a very dynamic and open-space and looks like an interesting place to work in.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
The insight week went beyond my expectations in terms of networking opportunities, new knowledge acquired, investment by the company and its employees and overall effort to condense an internship intuition in one week.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Bloomberg
If you want to dive into finance but aren't convinced about going in banking the culture, working hours and actual job opportunities at Bloomberg might be an excellent fit. It is a company that invests in its employees with a young workforce and willing to train you if you show financial enthusiasm and strong soft skills. Show the commitment to learn.
