Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

For my role, I was a team member transitioning into working from the kitchen into a front-of-house team member to deal with customers and not just the kitchen meaning I would be able to help the pub with staff shortages in a more flexible way. So on a day-to-day basis, I helped customers, run food to tables, served drinks, and took payments.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The material was always interesting and stayed relevant though of course there are some areas that are not so important that need to be completed in my circumstances this was laws area food and hospitality such as; healthy and safety act, weights and measures, etc. Even with those less so interesting areas, the materials given were always made to make it more interesting.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed skills in many areas whether it be learning about better food parinings to how best to deal with customers to meet their expectations and even in organizational skills. It has helped me develop skills that would be useful in not just only this job role but any with customer service or hospitality area.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The training was always well scheduled and they took no issues with re-arranging dates for remote sessions if needed. The only issue that happened to me was due to covid changing up the training company meaning I had 3 different trainers but 2 of those were excellent and did everything they could for me and talked me through and explained the whole process in a simple and easy to understand way.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer personally for me give me enough experience with front of house work but this was difficult due to covid and making sure all the staff still had adequate hours. My employer did however always make sure I had time to meet in person when possible for my on-site meetings and made sure they where convenient for me.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I was able to schedule additional meetings before my final exam processes and any questions I had were answered in the most detail possible. They were also very knowledgeable on the subject areas and were able to help with reassuring me on how I was doing and ways I could improve my work.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I have more insight into specialized areas that I would not have thought of before like learning about organizational skills and about different customer profiles and what they might need and want to have the best experience possible.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We host a football team that plays on the field owned by the pub, there are also often sports nights when there are specific sporting events on, we also host a poker night on a Monday night with many regular faces.

There an easy-to-work-for company that cares about its people any issues are dealt with quickly and swiftly. They have a large host of sites around the country and there employee benefits are very nice.
