Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

During my time at university my day involves studying computer science in order to be prepared for my role at the company. I will have a summer placement as a site reliability engineer and then a year long placement in my third year.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Very much. There is a lot of support, many opportunities which I’ll be able to take full advantage of when I’m on site, and many insights into what the company is doing and planning to do which is exciting.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
At university I’ve developed my organisation and reliability skills, and have improved my confidence and responsibility when in meetings with my supervisor.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Very well organised. I have 3 meetings annually to catch my supervisor and tutor up on how I’m managing and any support I need. I can also contact my supervisor or BPOC member for any information or help.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I get lots of support and have many opportunities to ask for support.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I receive lots of support from my training provider in the form of weekly tutorials and personal emails so I can contact them at any time and receive a timely response.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My qualification will help me to be more confident in my job role and more inquisitive as I will be more inclined to ask about things that I don’t understand but which are related to my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes, there are many opportunities to get involved in at work, such as networking events and social activities.
