Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I currently sit within our Transformations & Projects department, supporting one of our Project Managers on IT-related projects. On a day-to-day basis I will be attending project meetings, taking minutes, completing RAID logs and contacting suppliers and key stakeholders.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy my apprenticeship. You're exposed to so many areas of the business and you can carry across skills to new departments. The company culture is great, with lots of social events, committees and just a general feeling of togetherness. Every team I've worked with has been very welcoming too.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have definitely improved on my planning and organisational skills, having to work to strict deadlines and juggle multiple tasks at one time. I have taken part in a few internal training courses on some of our software applications, such as MS Teams and CRM system.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
COVID-19 affected our apprenticeship, however we were able to keep working during such an uncertain time. Despite having to move to a new department suddenly, it was a good opportunity to work with a new team. The training we receive is really helpful, and is always encouraged.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a lot of support from our employer, not just from our HR team but from every line manager I've had and fellow apprentices too, which has been incredibly important whilst working from home. There is so much access to support too, both internally and externally
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
All of my line managers have been very engaged in my studying and have been very willing to help. The actual qualification itself has been engaging throughout, it's quite independent, but it makes a nice change from coming straight from school.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I have definitely learnt things from my qualification that I am able to apply to my every day role, especially in Project Management. I have learnt a lot about businesses and organisations in general that I didn't before, not having studied business before.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are loads of social activities, such as Pilates and a running club. There are numerous committees to be involved in too, as well as events run by these committees and workshops and 'Lunch & Learn' sessions too. There are many departmental social events that are organised by your department and you're encouraged to come along to
