Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I work in Margin Assurance where I support the compliance element of the team, checking that our controls are fit for purpose, documenting them and working with the audit team. I am also in charge of a small programme to expand the team's range, which involves tracking progress, risks and issues and gathering requirements.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy learning new management accounting skills. I don't find the other skills sessions as useful as I am fairly advanced in my career now so they are not teaching me much new.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt new management accounting skills through studying CIMA.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
It is very well structured and the team at the training site and at Vodafone are helpful and responsive. It feels very clear what I need to do, when and how.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer is very supportive, allowing me time off to study and working around my study hours.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
There is always a tutor on hand to answer questions and they are helpful and friendly. I feel well supported.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
It isn't really relevant to my current role so this is difficult to answer. It helps me understand the wider context better.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
Some although restricted at the moment due to Covid-19.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Vodafone to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is a supportive employer as a general rule, and has good benefits. The problem is that so much depends on your manager and managers are not given much training or support at Vodafone.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Vodafone?
Research the Vodafone Spirit and make sure you have good examples from your experience to show that you embody that.
