Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role was split across two placements. One was in the Delegated Authorities team at Lloyd's for 5 months, whilst the other was at an Insurance company called Allied World where I acted as an Underwriting Assistant in the Healthcare team. No two days were the same and I was also able to gain work experience in other teams such as claims, exposure management and underwriting management.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes. Lloyd's is a fantastic employer who provide training for growth and development. This included training on; presenting, time management, communication and project management. I also gained my Cert CII qualification.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme is well structured, however due to Covid-19 there were some issues along the way. On our first day we were given a time table of important dates and deadlines to complete our exams, which was very beneficial.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Lloyd's provide lots of support. The company emphasises well being, and put on yoga classes and well being workshops whilst working from home during the pandemic. We are also allocated a buddy who has also completed the apprenticeship scheme, who can advise us throughout the scheme.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Excellent support from FWD - I felt as though I could have contacted my coach at anytime for support, whether that be for exams, the apprenticeship qualification, or generic work queries.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
Very much so
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
Yes - however due to Covid-19 I was unable to get too involved in these. The Christmas party was good as well as apprentice and grad drinks which my manager hosted.
