Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I engage with both clients and insurers in order to obtain cover that meets the clients requirements. This involves dealing with queries, obtaining quotations and explaining the recommended quotations to the client. The programmes can be local or global and often involve dealing with colleagues in other countries.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy the programme as it is a much more active job role than I initially expected. The people are helpful, and whilst the workload can be heavy at times you are always offered the opportunity to push back. There is always something to learn and that definitely keeps the job interesting.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
My communication has developed, particularly over the phone. Attention to detail is crucial and teamwork skills are developed. Organisation skills are also built upon, along with technical skills, and using the systems.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The programme is well structured, sometimes the content is not covered completely in workshops, but overall the organisation is good.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive lots of support from my employer - a large amount of time can be taken to study, and the rest of the team are always willing to help. My manager is keen to get me involved in as much as possible, and is always checking on my wellbeing. Any problems have been dealt with effectively and there is a strong sense of community, resulting in a supportive environment.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
The training provider offers lots of support, particularly the tutors. They have offered extra resources in preparation for exams and are keen to answer questions. Various learning styles are covered and anything that is missed can be accounted for. There is support aside from exams from the provider, with regards to other areas of the programme, and checking in on your wellbeing, workload etc.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I feel the qualification helps with performance as it enables a deeper understanding of the things you deal with on a day to day basis. However, there is lots to be learnt from the people around you as well. Overall, it definitely aids your understanding and you can draw similarities from the textbook to real life.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
You are always encouraged to join any of the networks at Willis which cover a variety of things, including young professionals. These networks often have social events, and offices also tend to have get-togethers which you are encouraged to get involved in.
