Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
To reduce cyber risk by engaging with employees on information security and driving good security behaviours.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I am definitely finding it challenging but I am enjoying learning new skills, which is why I wanted to do the degree in the first place.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have only just started my degree apprenticeship but I have already learnt new skills in my workshops.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme is very well structured. With everything being virtual at the moment there have been a few initial teething problems with technology but other than that it's been great.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer is supporting me in doing the apprenticeship and is providing me with the work experience and time off required.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
There are opportunities to attend drop in classes with your tutor if you have questions or are stuck on something. You also have support from a skills coach.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I have worked in information security for 6 years but at governance / management level. This qualification will help me deepen my technical knowledge or information security, which will of course mean I become more advanced in my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Pre-Covid there were a number of social activities / clubs to get involved with. Since Covid we have made sure to do some virtual activities as a team but it has become more difficult.
