5/5
I am really enjoying my apprenticeship as it is giving me the opportunity to enhance my overall business and HR understanding whilst developing different other skills including communication and teamwork, leadership, emotional intelligence, problem solving, process improving and service delivery. I have been receiving support from both my employer and my training provider on a regular basis. Since the start of this journey I feel a lot more confident and I have a better understanding of the role and focus of HR within my organisation.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Since the start of my level 3 apprenticeship I have certainly developed my knowledge, skills and behaviours including:
(1) Business understanding
(2) HR legislations and policies
(3) HR functions and processes
(4) Flexibility
(5) Teamwork
(6) Resilience
(7) Communication and interpersonal skills
(8) Emotional intelligence
(9) Process improvement
I am a lot more confident when it comes to proposing solutions to HR problems, working together in a team and to contributing to the business development.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
It is very well organised. My induction was clear and both my manager and I had a strong input in the curriculum sequencing of the programme. My assessor has been providing support, advice and guidance regularly and produced a plan of action for me to refer to at all times to ensure timely completion. The programme was divided into 4 different milestones (1) Business understanding (2) HR legislation and policies and HR function (3) HR systems and processes (4) Service delivery, problem solving, personal development.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Constantly. My employer is truly committed to my personal development and, with this apprenticeship, has given me the opportunity to progress my career whilst developing essential skills. I have access to my Manager when I need to speak to him about HR related matters and he regularly provides me with relevant advice and guidance. I have the opportunity to work closely with Directors and the SMT and also liaise directly with external HR consultants.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I have been regularly receiving support, advice and guidance from my assessor. She has always been available via email, phone or text. She is clear when it comes to setting SMART targets and objectives. She is flexible and encouraging.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
Everything I am learning on my apprenticeship helps me on a day-to-day basis in my role. I have a good understanding of the different scenarios we could have to deal with from an HR perspective and I can propose efficient solutions and work with other staff (or external consultants) to resolve issues that arise. I feel I have a much better understanding of how businesses (in general) operate and of HR in their sector and unique features.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Absolutely. My company organises different events regularly:
(1) Social events (quizzes)
(2) Afternoon teas (to take a break from work and a chat with a colleague)
(3) Virtual lunch breaks (to take a break from work and a chat with a colleague)
(4) Regular company updates from Directors
(5) Residential and non-residential team bulging activities (away days)
(6) They provide us with the opportunity to take part in training events (equality and diversity, manger of people training etc,)
