Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
I focus on the digital tasks of construction mainly completing model federations, clash detection's, site progress photos, BIM documentation & other general tasks that may require my assistance.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
everyday poses a new challenge even if i am doing my usual tasks & there are opportunities to undertake new tasks to always keep me busy, everyone on the projects im on are nice & helpful if i need assistance with anything.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
As this is my first time in construction, everything i have been tasked to do on a daily basis has all been new & i am confident in majority of my main tasks to complete without assistance. much improvement is still needed i would say to ensure i maximise my knowledge of these tasks to get the best outcomes for the projects.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The main NVQ & BTEC has been structured well so there is time to complete the required tasks however, the end point assessment has made the structure a bit more random & unknown.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
I believe i am receiving decent support as everything i have currently learned for my job role has come from my manager.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Training support is very good on the weeks away that are assigned to learn the modules however, support outside is not as consistent as reply's to questions can take a long time to hear back from.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Majority of the completed modules dont appear to be related to the job role however the CAD module was the most help, the NVQ helps explore other areas of the construction industry when on site which is helpful & i think fits better for the job role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are lots of demonstrations that can be attended for getting knowledge in other areas which can be helpful & there are many courses that can be taken to improve skills in many areas.

Yes
Why?
Very kind people that are open to helping each other & are providing a great opportunity for young people getting into construction.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Kier Group?
Be yourself & think about what you can bring to the company with your previous experience even if its not construction related & show off your work you have made.
