Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Each day we would have an hour of interactive presentations delivered via Zoom to all of the Summer Scheme students. The rest of the day was spent working in your team, so the activities varied depending on where you sat. I completed research tasks, administrative tasks, and worked on many tasks with the graduate in my team. I also did a few site visits.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
We had half hour talks provided by a member of each department. It would have been nice to meet more people face to face, and the burden was placed on the interns to organise any events in person.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
A little more traditional and lad-ish than expected, having previously done experience in law and financial services. The office was very male dominated.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I really enjoyed myself, and by the end of my two weeks I felt like I was beginning to be a part of the company. I am so grateful we could do it in person rather than online!
The culture was quite different to what I expected and this took some getting used to; I valued the few socials I had as it allowed me to understand the people behind the firm.
