Im currently working in the Electronics productin line, producing products such as the ECU for aerospace engines. There are multiple different designs of PCB's depending upon what engine it is going to go on.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the apprenticeship i am on as ive always been a practical person and this suits me. I love engineering and once you've learnt all the skills and are competant i was aloud to do the jobs. This is around freindly co-workers too!
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

ive learnt how to build a PCB board and put them together (the start and end of the process). ive also learnt many things in college (EEF) with subjects such as maintenance, bench, electronics, electrical, PLC and many more.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

My apprenticeship has a clear pathway in what it requires from each apprentice. It has been built very well with different courses in college (with time to do all this) and gaining competancies on machinery within the Rolls-Royce site. Everything has been made undertstandable and when ive needed to ask a question theres always been someone who can answer it.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

when support is needed it is there! very helpful and freindly people who help you reach your end goal. multiple people are there to contact for all different subjects.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

While recieving training i had a very helpful and good teaching experience. topics were described in detail and if there were any quesrions to be asked, the tutor would do 1 on 1 sessions or inform the whole class when nessacary. only problem would be the odd tutor getting back to emails.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

ive learnt skills which i wouldnt have learnt any other way. providing techneques and what tools are needed for certaian jobs

Very good company to work for in the aspect - They are friendly, supportive, Quality in products, safety is key and much more.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Rolls-Royce?
get involved with alot of events prior to this (DoFE in school, Stem events at other companies etc). i would also prepare alot for the interview as you get asked questions about types of rolls-royce engines etc.
