Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
As a supply chain management degree apprentice, I rotate between roles every 6 months. This means dependant on the role I am in day to day activities differ. A lot of the work involves planning materials for build line or our services business and also controlling this material through to delivery.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I enjoy the placements and university aspects of my apprenticeship however I do find the combination of both as an apprenticeship can be quite disorganised and therefore stressful.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
Yes, my skills continue to develop in line with the chartered management degree apprenticeship standard where we develop knowledge and skills in areas including communication, management of self and others and operational strategy.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
Overall I have found the programme to be disorganised. When I first started everything was in place however since then there has been change after change meaning the structure that was once in place has disappeared. Announcements and changes can be very spontaneous.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Good support from Apprentice Leader and Placement Managers. Other areas of organisation less aware of support apprentices require.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Good support - regularly review progress at university, within our work placements and towards our apprenticeship standard with our Apprentice Leader and set objectives on how we can improve further.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Good understanding of management in potential roles post completion of the apprenticeship.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
Very rarely - if they do take place not always open to apprentices.
