Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role involves handling matters in the manufacturing process within the site. As an apprentice I move from placement to placement, each one consisting of different jobs. For example working with the New Product Introduction team we look at bringing in different products and the use of certain materials I.e. what properties they have and how they can be beneficial in set jobs.
In the METS team I looked at different machines and how I could reduce cycle times for these machines and certain operations
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I enjoy when I am given responsibilities and jobs to do, however I have found in my NPI placement, I am not given responsibilities, and feel I am not needed in the team, which can be very frustrating and seemingly very wasteful.
When I worked with the METS team I was given a lot of responsibility, and worked on many different projects, some of which I was given lead on, which pushed me to work to the best of my abilities and strive to do better.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed many skills in various areas such as welding, CNC Programming, Electrical, and many more

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
The programme itself seems to have great structure, to which I would give 9/10.
However my placement in the NPI team, seems to have little to no structure at all. Which I would have to give 2/10.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive great support from my ADL, Reis Deaton, as well as other instructors, ADLs and Management, however again in my NPI placement I do not believe I have great support available.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Great support in anything we require.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I definitely believe it has given me more skills and knowledge which can help in my job role, as well as in life.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes there are definitely a range of teams and extra-curricular activities to join I.e. the football team, rugby team and other networking events
