Overall Rating

4.3 /5

4/5 - Overview of Role
4/5 - Skills Development
4.2/5 - Structure and Support

Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
General administrative tasks, such as assisting with apprentice, intern and graduate admin, as well as basic course admin. Helping with recruitment, organising work experience and STEM (Careers) events.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I do enjoy my apprenticeship, especially some of the on-the-job work I do. Some of the 20% off-the-job self-study can be fatiguing and sometimes a little repetitive, however, I mostly enjoy the content.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes. I have learned lots of skills, such as time-management, prioritisation, communication, working under pressure and have gained a much higher level of confidence.
I have also learned some facilitation and business partner behavioural skills, as well as an increased knowledge of the railway.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The programme is well organised, although sometimes I do feel like I would appreciate a bit more guidance from the training provider.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
The employer is extremely supportive. Especially whilst working from home during these uncertain times, I have been supported with my studies and from a personal development perspective.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I do receive a good level of support, however, sometimes they do feel very busy and sometimes accessing their help can be a bit timely, although there isn't much they could improve.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The qualification is vital for my future role, and is allowing me to express myself with more confidence and knowledge within my current role, although some of the skills are slightly different to the skills I need now.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, lots. I often play football with colleagues (not only other apprentices), as well as having the option of attending lots of other social activities. The social life could not be any better!

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Siemens to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Very reliable and reputable employer, with a vast range of opportunities and roles for any individual. Very inclusive and easy to express any concerns or issues.
I have developed massively so far in my 10 months with the business.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Siemens?
Be open, and say yes to any opportunities that you get. The business will always try to accommodate your wishes and might offer you a slightly different opportunity if you impress in the recruitment process.
My advice would be to put yourself out there and show how you are unique/different from a normal applicant.
