Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

I recently took part in WTW’s two-day virtual Insight Day and found it extremely insightful. The sessions introduced practical problem-solving tools like root cause analysis and the Why Therefore technique, which are highly relevant for roles in risk management and strategic decision-making.
Day two focused on client excellence, where I developed my understanding of empathetic communication, personal branding, and the STAR method for interviews—all crucial for client-facing roles in finance and VC.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

We also explored how diverse thinking styles strengthen teams and how to prioritise solutions based on impact vs effort—skills that are valuable in asset management and consulting environments.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

As a Management with Finance student, I especially appreciated the exposure to how analytical and behavioural skills are applied in HR Consulting, which deepened my interest in areas like risk insurance and people strategy.
A big thank you to the WTW Early Careers Team for an engaging and well-organised event. The interactive sessions and supportive environment made it easy to learn and connect.
