Insight Day Intern Review

The WTW Level Up Insight Programme was a two-day virtual experience that gave me a comprehensive introduction to WTW’s culture, values, and core business areas. On the first day, I took part in problem-solving workshops, heard from senior leaders, and attended a thought-provoking session on inclusion and diversity. I also engaged in structured networking with peers and past programme participants, which gave me valuable insight into early careers at WTW. We ended the day with a team-based social activity that helped build collaboration skills in a fun and engaging way.
The second day focused more on developing client-facing and professional skills. I attended sessions on empathetic listening, using the STAR technique in interviews, and personal branding. I particularly enjoyed the mini careers fair, which allowed me to speak with representatives from different business lines and understand the wide range of career opportunities available at WTW. The programme wrapped up with a reflection session that helped consolidate everything I had learned across the two days.

Before the programme, I had a limited view of what a global advisory, broking, and solutions company actually did. But through the insight sessions and business line introductions, I gained a much clearer picture of how areas like Investment Consulting, Risk and Broking, and Human Capital Advisory work together to serve clients.

Yes, I developed several key skills during the WTW Level Up Insight Programme. Most notably, I improved my problem-solving abilities through interactive workshops that focused on identifying root causes and delivering effective solutions. I also enhanced my communication and interpersonal skills, especially during the empathetic listening and client excellence sessions, which taught me how to approach conversations in a structured and thoughtful way.
Additionally, I gained confidence in presenting myself professionally by learning how to apply the STAR technique and refine my personal brand. These skills will be valuable not just in future interviews, but also in client-facing roles and collaborative environments.

The company culture at WTW felt welcoming, collaborative and genuinely supportive. From the very start of the insight programme, everyone from senior speakers to recent graduates was approachable and willing to share their experiences. There was a strong emphasis on inclusion and personal development, which made the atmosphere feel encouraging rather than intimidating.
