Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Creating, updating and managing Working Instructions for production of boilers
Ensuring correct tooling is used on production lines and purchasing if there are any in low capacity
Assisting with projects implementing new products and systems to the production lines
Helping to fix any computer/software related problems
Partake in Continuous improvement projects to help improve KPIs around the factory

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was given a lot of responsibility on my placement such as being able to co-lead a project involving a new product being implemeneted onto our production line

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I have developed a lot of transferable skills such as communication, teamwork and problem solving. New skills i have learned include maintaining large excel pages, writing instructions using standards in order for them to be legible by anyone. I have also been able to manage projects and been introduced to a range of different softwares including FMEAs and SAP database software

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I really enjoyed my internship and would definitley recommend it for the next intern. Every day was different which stopped it from becoming a drag/boring
