Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Providing Booker, Unilever's Independent wholesalers and Amazon with high quality B2B marketing material. This involved providing ads for both digital and print use, and also organising and executing in store activations amongst our wholesalers. As well as this, I ran several promotions online, working with wholesalers to attract more customers to purchase our products. This often involved running competitions, or giveaways.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was given huge responsibility during my placement, especially for my first year in the industry. I was able to lead huge projects myself, and was never considered to be 'the placement student' and instead was seen as any other employee.

I've learnt a huge amount at my year at Unilever. The skills I've been able to develop include communication, presenting, stakeholder management, organisation, teamwork, collaboration, leadership and problem solving.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
In the second half of my placement, I received as much support as I could have asked for, while still being able to develop by myself too. This involved weekly 121s with my line manager and monthly development meetings as well.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I loved my placement, and felt that I developed hugely over the year. I'm sad to leave my team and would love to come back after uni - which I think shows how positive my experience has been.

What advice would you give to others applying to Unilever
Get yourself stuck in with as much as possible and ask loads of questions! It will be challenges but with hard work, as well as the support from your colleagues you'll overcome any problems.
