Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I am a member of the training admin team, in which i provide customer service and phone calls, handling questions and bookings from engineers. I also manage the shared inbox for any emails coming in. I also manage shared databases where customers create accounts on our training website. I also support with the invigilation and assessments as the department has shifted to online exams for the engineers. I make sure that they run smoothly.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Lots of responsibility, being the first point of call for engineers and businesses looking to book training courses, and leaving a valuable impression. Also lots of responsibility handling confidential personal data. Also invigilating assessments has a lot of responsibility making sure engineers have the smoothest experience with the online exams as possible, as well as making sure the assessments are completed securely without any possibility of cheating

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Gained discipline, managing to be in work for 8am every day, and also making sure that all the tasks are done in a timely and efficient manner. I also have developed my teamworking skills, working within the admin team as well as eco-efficiency projects with other interns in the Eco-Intern project which is done throughout the year. My communication has definitely improved, as i speak to customers daily in both written and verbal communication via email or telephone

Lots of support and guidance throughout the year from the admin team, my manager and trainers. I am always asking questions if i am unsure and receive support and guidance with every question.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Feel very included with everyone you meet, see familiar faces around the business from the canteen to the shop floor. Felt part of the business from day one.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement. I have gained skills and experience which will travel with me for the rest of my life. I have also thoroughly enjoyed the people that i work with on a day-to-day basis as well as other interns. They have made the experience even better with social activities (such as football) outside of work hours. #InternMilan #InternMilanOleOle

What advice would you give to others applying to Worcester Bosch Group
Keep in mind what you want to do in future careers/what you will enjoy doing most. Push yourself out of your comfort zones to try new things and take on extra tasks. Also, meet new people (mainly interns) to make sure you have a social life as well as a work life.
