Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

On the first day of the scheme which was just an introduction to the company and general IT training.
The second day is when you officially start your seat, the team then introduce you to everyone. I was then given tasks from the partner from when I first arrived, therefore i got stuck straight into it from my first day!

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

The key takeaway for me was gaining confidence in drafting and general admin work. I worked in both the PRM and Banking departments, which are quite different and offered unique experiences. In my PRM seat, I learned a lot about being a solicitor in the Employment team, really enhancing my research and analysis skills while boosting my commercial awareness. In my Banking seat, I got a deep dive into transactional work, like completing executive versions of standard securities, comparing documents, and updating them. This really helped me develop my attention to detail and legal drafting skills.
