Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

I carried out various trainee tasks such as drafting and research. I also had the opportunity to attend court. Additionally, we had multiple 'lunch & learn' sessions where we had lunch provided to us and we had sessions on pro bono at the firm, inclusion networks, behavioural styles and personal branding.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

I learnt so much more than I could have ever learnt online about Dentons and about what trainee life looks like at the firm.

I have learnt to take initiative when drafting legal documents that I have never encountered before. I have also learnt how to research in a practical way rather than academically.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Really great. Everybody was so welcoming and friendly and it is a workplace where everybody seems genuinely happy to be there. Lots of people are always smiling and laughing, even when they are working, and nobody ever seems too busy to help you out if you have a question.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

I enjoyed it more than I ever could have imagined. I have learnt so much about myself, the firm and commercial law. The tasks I was given have all genuinely been very interesting and I always felt valued and supported.
