Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
The 12 month role involves three four month placements in departments of your choosing, in each placement the team will provide work and support for the work. Day-day activities normally include some form of meeting about members in the teams work or your direct work. There is a large amount of work and placement students are well utilised and able to learn on the job.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
BAE gives interns a lot of responsibility with the work they do and there is the feeling what you're doing is important and beneficial to the company. This helps keep young engineers engaged and interested with the work they are doing motivating them to go above and beyond.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I have learnt a lot of skills applicable to my aerospace degree but more importantly have been able to apply the highly theoretical skills learnt at university to real world projects. This has been unimaginably beneficial and improved my technical capabilities no end. Aside from the technical skills, I feel my interpersonal skillset has also greatly improved largely to the amount of trust from the company.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
Throughout each of my placements I felt well supported with the work I was doing. Direct support from line managers has always been there and all members of the teams I have been in were happy to help with my work whether that be explaining engineering concepts or help with appropriately documenting the work completed.
