Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Contractual management across one or multiple contracts in a project. Laisse directly with project team (Finance, Engineering, Project Management, Supply chain) to ensure project adheres to contract specifications and remains on track to final delivery. Build and present packs for future opportunities to fill BAE Systems order book.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
This is dependent on your manager and nature of work.
For my second half of placement yes, i was able to be given full responsibility to speak to internal and external stakeholders, advise in meetings and consistently pushed to take more on. This was excellent for personal and professional development.

Plenty of support and guidance but its best to speak to other interns/grads as they will know more generic questions. Its likely the grad will also know someone who is in the same role as you.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Overall very positive and friendly. No barrier to speak to seniors. Good early careers community an plenty of social events. However very limiting ethnically in the south coast region.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
Overall i really enjoyed my placement, it is a company i would come back to for my grad scheme and would recommend the business to anyone. If you are after diverse cultures, i would recommend the DI business unit not Maritime.
