Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Various engineering and product management tasks based on the team placed in. Technical, programming, and MATLAB tasks are common

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Depending on the team, I was given a larger amount of responsibility in regards to analysing data or managing a project. I also had the opportunity to manage a project of graduates which was a large amount of responsibility

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

Developed MATLAB and general programming skills. Also developed critical thinking and problem solving skills further based on what I learnt at university. Learnt how to manage my time more effectively and developed good professional communication skills.

Good amount of support across the board, especially technically. Some teams could support the introduction to the team better

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Good culture, open to new ideas and happy to support new types of people. Some older engineers can be stuck with older views, though that is beginning to subside.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

Have really enjoyed this placement, and it has supported me to get a better idea of what I plan to do in the future. Has also given me a lot of confidence in myself that I will be able to work well in industry
