Intern - Toxicology Review

I work on toxicological assessments to ensure the safety of our products for consumers, as well as attending workshops ran by the placement team here at BAT. I also work on my main placement project, analysing the data we have available

I have been trusted to complete multiple toxicology assessments that could have industry impact throughout the business, and have a real impact on the ways of working throughout the department

I have definitely had huge opportunities to work on my presentation skills, with an intern poster presentation event, as well as end of year presentations to the board of senior leaders. It has helped me to work on my communication skills, as well as my ability to effectively analyse datasets to come to clear conclusions.

I have had lots of guidance from the placement team here at BAT, as well as support from my manager, mentor, and buddy (one in my team, and one in the placement team) as a point of contact for any questions and potential problems i may face.

Everybody at the company is so friendly and very welcoming to all of the intern cohort, it is a very good environment to be able to work in and they are very accomodating

I have really enjoyed my placement, there have been a range of events for us to take part in and a lovely group of people in the intern cohort/placement team as well as throughout the wider company.
