Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Over the placement, I have had the exciting opportunity to lead and manage my own sensory project that has been closely linked to my psychology degree. My responsibilities included creating/preparing materials for the lead up to my study; recruiting participants and conducting study; and analysing data and creating reports. Outside of my team, I was able to collaborate with other departments to support their projects.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, I was given the right responsibilities but they were never overwhelming. I would also go to other teams so I would have more responsibilities.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I've developed and learnt many skills such as report writing, using excel tools, communication, time-management, and organisation skills. I would not have been able to develop these skills to this extent if I had stayed in the 3-year pathway. Being able to lead and manage a project, and even being able to explore and collaborate with other departments were great opportunities to build my skills.

A good amount of support and guidance from my direct team, placement team, and mentor.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The company culture and atmosphere was enjoyable. Everyone was very friendly, and there's even a gym. Activities in the Sports and Social part were well advertised.
