Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I calculate members retirement quotes and transfer quotes. I also calculate dependent's and Spouse's pensions following the death of a member. I answer phone calls to members, relatives and IFA's (Independent Financial Advisors).

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was given a lot of responsibility compared to some of my friends in different companies. I really enjoyed this aspect of the role as I got real life work experience which will always stand by me. This will be super helpful for nay jobs I apply to in the future.

I've learnt and developed many skills during my time here. Time management, communication with many different ages and analytical skills while analysing a member's preserved benefits to calculate a retirement or transfer amount.

The support here at Isio has been great. It has always been made clear to us that no question is too big or small to ask and to always ask questions. Through doing this I have learnt so much about the role and developed so much too.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The company culture has been amazing. There is a "social" every month which helps us all bond outside of work and get to know each other better. Examples have been, pub quizzes, an ice hockey game, a games night and a hike.
