Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Interacting with internal and external teams to help provide test solutions for a range of projects. I ran documentation and drawing reviews as well. Created physical test harnesses and worked with a range of products.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
My manager was very good at giving me as much responsibility as I could handle. I was required to manage my own workload and understand my skillset, however I knew if I needed help I could just ask my project team or my manager and they would be happy to help. I organised meetings, took accountability for my tasks and ran technical reviews on documents and drawings.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
My schematic analysis skills developed a lot with the work I did, I gained better interpersonal skills due to the meetings I attended and the teams I interacted with. My ability to propose solutions and problem solve for myself increased as well.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I was constantly supported by all of my team and my manager, my technical lead on the project was also my mentor and helped me understand my strengths and weaknesses in the role. I was made aware of who I could talk to for help and guidance as well.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The general atmosphere of the company is good, you can always go and ask questions and they will be answered. The company culture is okay, many people are welcoming and kind, all workplaces have some people you won't get along with and that's understandable.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I enjoyed the vast majority of my placement, at some points the workload was light and it was hard to stay motivated without work to do, however my team would work quickly to find me something meaningful to do. There were a couple of incidents that tainted my experience slightly, however these were all isolated incidents and swiftly dealt with by the right people.
