Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The programme offered a wealth of valuable networking and learning experiences. Each day, our group of first-year students, all eager to join the firm as trainees, gathered at the London office for breakfast. This was a great opportunity for us to connect before attending insightful presentations from the firm’s lawyers, who openly shared their unique legal journeys to Fieldfisher and provided fascinating insights into their practice areas and daily roles. At the end of the first day, the programme also featured an informal social event, perfect for students to connect in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
I feel like I have gained a greater appreciation for the type of work the firm is involved in. I was also provided with the knowledge I need to progress into future roles at the firm.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
After this scheme, I better understand the complexities of the legal profession, especially at a leading international firm like Fieldfisher. I gained insight into a commercial lawyer's career and left with more connections and renewed motivation for my chosen path.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
This was one of the friendliest environments I have experienced at a city law firm to date. Everyone involved in the scheme, including partners, associates, trainees, and early-career staff, was very hospitable and kind. Their continued effort to make students feel welcome and valued showed throughout the scheme.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
