Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Day 1 - an introduction to Fieldfisher, insight into the firm's clients, values, sustainability and ESG initiatives, pro bono work, trainee Q&A, office tour, a presentation about generations at work and their differing management & collaboration styles, social event - ping pong and networking
Day 2 - a department roadshow introducing some of Fieldfisher's practice areas led by fee earners, followed by a pitch exercise and presentation on the programme and an employability session

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
There was a lot of information provided yet it was done so in a very comprehensive and approachable manner due to the friendly environment of Fieldfisher, the willingness of fee earners and members of Early Careers to answer questions and the overall interactive nature of the scheme.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
By speaking to other participants, members of the Early Careers team, trainees and fee earners, I have further developed my networking skills and my confidence to speak to others in a professional yet friendly setting.
Working on so many interactive exercises, such as the pitch exercise and presentation during day 2 of the programme, I have gained more experience working with other aspiring legal professionals on a collaborative project.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Incredibly welcoming, approachable and supportive. Everyone was genuinely so nice and really gave the impression that they love the work they do and Fieldfisher itself, which is so refreshing to see for a big city/international law firm.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I very much enjoyed the insight and am very happy with the experience I have come away with. My expectations were exceeded. I learned so much about Fieldfisher which can only truly be seen by having actually been to the firm and spoken to the people there - which can't be felt or found on their website or socials.
