Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Day One:
- Talks from a partner at the firm providing an overview into the firm
- Talks on ESG and Sustainability and how these are implemented - a chance to learn more about the firms pro-bono activities and other volunteering
- A chance to engage with trainees to ask any questions about life at the firm
- Talk on generations in the workplace and the difference in generational attitudes.
Day Two:
- Listen to many departments in a department roadshow - hear from Med Neg to Technology and Data
- Work with other like minded students in a pitch exercise and presentation
- Employability session
There is also the opportunity to attend an evening social in a relaxed and fun setting with members of the Fieldfisher team
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
Both insightful and motivating. It provided me with a clearer picture on how each department operates and contributes to the firm's overarching strategy.
To be able to hear directly from trainees and associates helped me to see the variety of the paths available and what day-to-day life is really like.

Helped developed my commercial awareness by engaging with real client issues and understanding how legal advice aligns with the objectives of business.

Company Culture

How would you rate business leader involvement during the insight

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture was quite unlike anything I had ever experienced before - it felt genuinely welcoming, collaborative and inclusive. All those involved in the programme were willing to answer any questions and connect with us students. It created a relaxed but still professional atmosphere.
There was a lot of emphasis placed on their work-life balance and how the firm considers and cares for the employee as a 'person'.
It was also clear the firm values individuality and diversity

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I thoroughly enjoyed the insight days - it was engaging, well structured and gave a genuine unfiltered feel for life at Fieldfisher. Every session was informative and helped me as a student gain insight into the firms values, work and culture.
The opportunity to connect with people across different departments made the experience personal and inspiring. As a student, opportunities like these are rare so to have these facilitated was great.
