Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The vacation scheme was a combination of attending informative sessions about the firm and its practice areas, assessed tasks, and work given to you by your supervisor. You also spend a lot of time just meeting and socialising with people at the office.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
The career development and graduate recruitment teams are very proactive and focused on your own individual development. There is a lot of information about the roles available at the firm and training sessions on how one can improve their chances at securing such roles.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
Definitely. Got a much deeper dive into what lawyers at global law firms actually do everyday. The assessed task and activities also help you further develop skills like attention to detail, time management, communication abilities. There is also a lot of learning through assimilation, just by sitting in the same office as your supervisor.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Very friendly culture. Everyone is always ready to help you out, have a coffee chat and is genuinely interested in you, your background and professional motivations. People at all levels of the firm and very approachable and nice to chat with.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I had a great experience. Beyond just the quality of the work and your actual involvement, you genuinely feel a part of the firm. Your trainee buddy and supervisor make consistent efforts to ensure you are comfortable and adjusting well. They take you out for lunch and coffee, and its these social interactions at Linklaters that make the vacation sceme so enjoyable.

- Be genuinely friendly and interested in the firm, the energy you bring to the application process is a key part of securing a role
