Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

We were involved in icebreaker activities and multiple insightful talks from industry professionals about their line of business and their experiences within the industry and bank. We were also taught technicals about bond and equity markets aswell as derivatives and macroeconomic factors and their effects.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

I found it very helpful because I only ever thought about trading but through the program I found out more about DCM and other business areas which are equally interesting. There are so many roles available and all have their own niches so there really is a role for everyone depending on your strengths and weaknesses.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I learned a lot about financial markets and what goes on within a bank. This included what services the bank provides, the life cycle of different products and also how teams uniquely fit in with each other to exploit synergies and improve overall function within the bank.

Company Culture

How would you rate business leader involvement during the insight

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The culture was very inclusive and welcoming. All the employees seemed to be enjoying their roles and found them to be rewarding. It seemed laid back and everyone was allowed to act upon their own intuition and there wasn't a rigorous structure.
