Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Received lots of talks on what the bank does, the different teams within the banks, the kind of deals they do. We also had a day long technical training with a third party company where we learned all about valuations and doing them on excel. We also had a different third party come to teach us about networking and soft skills.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
Very insightful, especially because it is such a big bank where there are so many different teams and roles within these teams available.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
Yes - excel training and also the different types of valuation methods used by banks. The main ones we studied were comparables, discounted cash flows and leveraged buyout models.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
People seemed to speak quite highly of the company culture, although we weren’t given that much time to actually speak to bankers. We didn’t get to go into the actual offices for either banking or markets so perhaps that would have been a more realistic experience.

I definitely enjoyed it. Sometimes it felt like we were being spoken at the whole time but still very informative.

Not much advice I can give as getting to the interview stage is a stroke of luck with the amount of applicants.
