Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

First day involved insights from different networks at the firm, a trainee lunch, a partner introduction, an inclusion workshop and a trainee social. The day after involved a department roadshow, employability workshop and pitch exercise.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

As someone early in my legal career, the graduate recruitment team did a thorough job of ensuring that we knew all the available options after the scheme. I feel like I understand the firms work and culture more now, and feel well equipped for future applications.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Developed public speaking skills during the pitch. Also networking skills, as we networked with individuals from across the firm during the scheme. Furthermore, the exercise enabled us to use collaborative skills, as we worked as a team to fulfil the brief given to us.

How would you rate business leader involvement during the insight

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Everyone was extremely friendly and the firm did not feel hierarchical. Everyone was very understanding of our situations and provided us with excellent insights into their journeys. No one was too scary to approach and there was a strong emphasis on diversity and inclusion.
