Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The first day served as an introduction to Jefferies: how the company works, their values, and introductions to Investment Banking, Equity Research, and Technology. We also heard from the diversity inclusion groups. As part of the Technology cohort, I had the chance to hear from current employees at Jefferies and shadow them, gaining an insight into what their everyday lives look like.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was very interesting to see the huge variety of roles within Technology that are available at Jefferies. Especially as it is an investment bank, it was interesting to see how crucial the field of technology is for the smooth running of an investment bank.

I had the chance to meet a lot of people and work on my networking skills. I heard about a lot of new technologies which I would now like to take the initiative to become more familiar with.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Amazing. Jefferies is a place where every employee seems to be very happy at work. They have a very flat structure and inclusive work culture. Their values are very ambitious and strong-working, and are taking Jefferies to be a leading firm. Everyone was very kind and welcoming and gave very good insights in all panels and conversations.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I really enjoyed the insight programme. I got a real feeling as to what it is like to work in the technology sector in an investment bank and hugely enjoyed meeting Jefferies employees as well as my fellow insight peers.
