Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
I was placed in the Valuations team where I helped a team develop commercial and residential valuations to enable the secure lending on properties for the clients. I conducted market research to find comparable properties to develop a a view on value as well as conducting site inspections of the subject properties. I also attended a number of informative site visits, Q&A's and presentations from Savills about different property areas.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
We were given overviews of some but not all of the business areas of Savills which increased my awareness of the offering and roles. From arranging chats with different staff in different departments I gained a better understanding of the structure of savills and the teams i may want to work in

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I have developed my valuation, excel, and market research skills from my work developing valuations. I have vastly improved my understanding of the different sectors and parties involved in the property market. I have increased my commercial awareness by reading news and being connected with property professionals.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Generally the culture and atmosphere was very good. It was great to connect with lots of young professionals and hearing how they got into the industry. Directors in certain teams seemed for very busy

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I thoroughly enjoyed the insight. It was daunting at first but by the wednesday i had lots to do i knew what the expectations were and i met so many different people and had a varied workload
