Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

Over the two days, we attended a variety of workshops, panel discussions, and case study sessions, took part in a mock mediation, and experienced work shadowing with a trainee — all of which gave a valuable insight into life at Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF).

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

It was insightful to learn how the firm operates as a business and to explore the range of roles available, especially the day-to-day responsibilities of a solicitor.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

The workshop significantly enhanced my commercial awareness, particularly through the case studies and discussions around real-life matters. While that was my main area of development, it also reinforced my understanding of the skills and mindset required to thrive as a trainee at a commercial law firm.
