Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

The FYW was incredible in giving me exclusive insights into some of the firm's high-profile deals, and specifically what roles trainees played in them. The work shadowing was a great opportunity to ask my trainee buddy questions and receive honest, unfiltered answers which helped to shape my understanding of what trainees are expected to do.
We also got to take part in activities like an ADR workshop and critical thinking exercise.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

There was a very thorough session about roles available and advice on how to do well in the application process.
There was lots of discussion by senior lawyers about the business and its strategy as well as why the firm is so well-ranked.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The general culture was incredible! Everyone was lovely, the atmosphere was surprisingly calm considering the firm handles some high-pressure work.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

I very much enjoyed the insight because it gave me information I would never be able to find online such as how kind everyone is - speaking to my trainee buddy allowed me to realise there is so much support on hand for trainees and that they are well looked after. It was genuinely great to see so much of what is written online about them in practice.
